Born and raised in The Netherlands, Emmelie Herwegh has built a diverse career within the international heavy music scene.

Many fans first discovered Emmelie through her YouTube channel, where her vlogs, festival content and metal collection updates have built a loyal following over the years. Through this platform, she became a familiar face in the community, with many supporters following her journey from a young girl with a dream into a touring musician living it.


Before joining Nervosa, Emmelie made her mark as guitarist for Dutch death metal band Sisters of Suffocation, appearing at major festivals and venues across Europe from 2018 to 2023. Alongside her musical career, she worked in communications for Loud Noise Productions, contributing to leading festivals such as Dynamo Metalfest and Into The Grave, and served as presenter of the weekly live show Metal Inside.


Her journey with Nervosa began in 2023, when she was asked by Prika Amaral to step in on bass for a single show. That experience sparked a new direction in her musical path and interest in the instrument. In 2024, she joined Nervosa as a touring live bassist, before becoming an official member of the band in 2025. As part of the lineup, Emmelie shares official bassist duties with Hel Pyre; both musicians alternate on stage while also contributing to other band activities together, strengthening Nervosa as a unified and dynamic team.

Her creative background includes professional education, graduating both as professional photographer at Nederlandse Fotovakschool (2016) and as performing artist (electric guitar) at Metal Factory (2019), followed by a bachelor’s degree in Creative Communications and International Event, Music and Entertainment Studies, which she is currently finalizing alongside her touring schedule with Nervosa. Beyond performing, Emmelie designs her own custom instruments, built by her father, Peter Herwegh of Brandin Guitars, translating her artistic vision into unique instruments tailored for the stage.
